Can a facelift make you look more attractive?
If you want to know the answer, don’t ask Joan Rivers.
Or Mickey Rourke.
Or Donatella Versace.
Or Daryl Hanna.
You also may not want to ask Burt Reynolds, Bruce Jenner, Kenny Rogers, or Melanie Griffith.
I will rephrase the question: Do present facelift techniques, skillfully performed and with tasteful moderation result in a person looking more attractive?
Does tightening and repositioning facial skin and tissues along with other ancillary procedures such as eyelid surgery, forehead lifts and fat injections result in a more beautiful you?
The answer to this question (of course ignoring the above photos) is NO. However, there are both patients who have undergone these procedures as well as plastic surgeons and others who have performed these surgeries who may disagree.
Facelifts CAN make you look younger and more rejuvenated. However, in general, they don’t alter the underlying bone structures, shapes, anatomic proportions and relationships that are the crucial determinants of beauty. So, if a person is not a “10” (or a “9” or even a “5”) on a scale from 1 to 10, he/she will not achieve greater beauty with a facelift.
So if you are hoping that a facelift will make you more beautiful (at least to others), you may be disappointed. However, if you just want to look better than you do now, appear more “youthful” and rejuvenated, then a facelift may be the answer for you.
