I have been using the Ultrapulsed CO2 laser since it was first introduced around 20 years ago and have been firmly impressed with the results that I can provide my patients in addressing qualitative issues of their skin associated with aging and sun damage. Given the right person and set of circumstances, the CO2 laser for facial skin rejuvenation can provide spectacular and predictable results that virtually always exceed those that can be obtained using any other alternative approach. That includes any of a myriad of chemical peels, micro-dermabrasion, standard dermabrasion, photofacials with intense pulsed light (IPL), and other lasers including Erbium.

The following patient of mine, a 52 year old woman, is a typical example of what can be obtained using the Ultrapulsed CO2 laser for full face skin rejuvenation. No other procedures were performed on her.

“Full” healing of the skin occurred in less than one week with some pink coloration present at one month. The postoperative photos were taken at less than two months after the procedure and without any cover-up makeup on.

This dramatic outcome is essentially impossible to equal with any other approach available today. Of course, it is not just the CO2 laser itself but also the extensive experience of the plastic surgeon that plays a crucial role in being able to obtain such a significant yet natural appearing result without complications.
